Leadership and episcopal ministry in the LWF communion
A global gathering for reflection and growth
Recently elected Bishops and Presidents from 16 LWF member churches across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and North America will gather near Geneva and in Wittenberg for the annual Retreat of Newly Elected Leaders (RoNEL).
Theme: “Leadership and Episcopal Ministry in the LWF Communion”
During the retreat, participants will explore how biblical teachings shape leadership values and discuss the responsibilities and meaning of being leaders in the Lutheran communion. Together, they will reflect on the strategic priorities of their churches, aligned with the new LWF Strategy for 2025–2031.
This retreat offers a rare opportunity for newly elected church leaders to support one another, engage in meaningful discussions, and strengthen bonds through shared prayer and worship.
A Journey of Faith and History
The program will also include a visit to the LWF Center in Wittenberg, Germany, where participants will explore significant Lutheran historical sites, deepening their connection to the tradition and history of the Lutheran church.
