LWF participates in 16 Days campaign
As part of its commitment to contribute towards ending all forms of sexual and gender-based violence, the LWF encourages its member churches and country programs to join the global16 Days Campaign to end violence against women and girls.
As the world prepares to commemorate thirty years of the Beijing Platform for Action, with its strong call for an end to violence against women and girls, the 16 Days campaign is a moment to raise awareness and call for action to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls, whenever and wherever it happens.
The LWF has a long history of engagement in the 16 Days campaign, organizing events and supporting the activities of member churches and country programs around the globe. Every year we provide a variety of resources that can be customized for use in many different contexts.
The theme for this year’s campaign calls for a reflection on the objectives and targets set out in Beijing in 1995. Together with our ecumenical partners, we will work to give visibility to the global campaign at the Communion Office in Geneva.
