General Secretary Burghardt and church leaders to engage stakeholders on peace and global governance
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) General Secretary Rev. Dr Anne Burghardt is leading a high-level delegation to the United Nations Summit of the Future, 22-23 September, in New York, United States.
The summit aims to build global consensus on how to address pressing issues such as migration, climate change, and peacebuilding. Burghardt will join faith leaders in discussions on transformative peace and global governance, offering reflections on the role of faith in addressing these global crises. The LWF delegation will also engage with world leaders in adopting a "Pact for the Future" to secure sustainable development and international cooperation.
The visit is jointly prepared and coordinated by the LWF’s Action for Justice and the Lutheran Office for World Community, which is a joint advocacy office of the LWF and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
