What We Do

In all our work we promote justice, peace, reconciliation and dignity for individuals and communities.

We support people in need through our humanitarian and development work. We promote justice and human rights through our advocacy work. We empower member churches in their gospel witness and work for the unity of Christians.

Humanitarian and Development work

We support communities in need and uphold the rights of every individual, regardless of their status, ethnicity, religion and gender.

Justice and Peace

We advocate for justice and peace, locally and globally, focusing on human rights, gender justice, climate justice, interfaith and peace.

Theology

We are committed to strengthening the Lutheran communion's theological capacity, promoting gender justice, and doing theology that addresses the contemporary challenges of a religiously diverse society and climate crisis.

Unity of the Church

We are committed to the quest for visible unity of the church: to be Lutheran is to be ecumenical. We further this goal through theological dialogues and practical cooperation with many other Christian traditions
