Regional workshop for diaconal practitioners and scholars in Africa

Regional workshop for diaconal practitioners and scholars in Africa

15 Jul – 19 Jul 2024
Invitation Only

Strengthening churches’ capacities for holistic mission and intergenerational leadership

The diaconal workshop is designed to reinforce the integral role of diakonia in church identity through theological and biblical reflections. It aims to strengthen networking among churches, promote mutual learning and sharing of experiences, and focus on caring for their neighbors and advocating for peace and justice.

It brings together 30 participants—15 men, 15 women, including 7 youth— comprising diaconal practitioners and LWF scholarship holders from seven member churches in Africa. The learning modules are tailored to the region’s needs, with the goal of affirming the active role of churches in society, and enhancing the sustainability and long-term impact of their service to people in need.

Participants will identify future regional priorities and agree on an action plan.
