Today is Reformation Day and Christians around the world are commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, looking back to 31 October 1517 when Martin Luther presented the 95 theses that sparked the Reformation.

The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is offering a live-stream of commemoration worship services from around the world beginning at 11:00 CET and lasting throughout the day. Viewers are invited to worship with churches and communities in ten countries on six continents.

“This will be a slow-TV broadcast that is going to last throughout the day, where people can watch at their convenience, lend their voice and experience on how our sisters and brothers around the world are commemorating the Reformation Anniversary,” say Rev. Anne Burghardt and Rev. Arni Svanur Danielsson, who are co-hosting the broadcast. “We hope to hear from people around the world during the day through the #ReformationDayLive hashtag and in social media.”

This will be a great opportunity to grasp “in tangible ways how churches worshipping locally are connected globally through communion relationships,” says LWF General Secretary Rev. Dr Martin Junge. The schedule of the live stream is as follows
