The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence begin each year on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and end on 10 December, International Human Rights Day.
'Awareness, Action, Accountability; focus on femicide' is the global theme for this year, which marks the 30th anniversary of the 16 Days campaign. LWF has a long history of participation in the campaign and this year, we will use the 16 Days to showcase our own action commitments to end gender-based violence.
Working with member churches and country programs, we are stepping up our advocacy towards ending sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in the lead up to 2030, the target year for the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
